A suspect in the shooting of Tottenham defender Serge Aurier’s brother has handed himself into French police.
The Tottenham star’s brother was shot dead on Monday morning in an alleged “love dispute” and a man turned himself into cops on Tuesday evening – less than 48 hours later.
Christopher Aurier, 26, was fatally wounded after being shot outside a nightclub in Toulouse and he was later pronounced dead in hospital.
His killer initially fled the scene and was believed to be on the run but, according to French outlet L’Equipe, a man turned himself into Toulouse police on Tuesday evening, less than 48 hours later after the murder.
The suspect cannot be named because of French privacy laws.
Christopher was also a footballer, in the French fifth division with Toulouse Rodeo. He had a trial with Championship side Brentford back in 2011 but was not signed.
Spurs paid tribute to Christopher with a Twitter post on Monday.
Alongside a picture of Serge’s shirt, it read: “The Club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of the morning.
