D’Tigress land in tough group for 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

D’Tigress have been handed a tricky path to the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup after being drawn in a tough qualifying group.

The draw, held at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Switzerland, saw 24 teams drawn into four groups of six teams each.

The D’Tigress are in qualifying tournament D alongside hosts France, Germany, Korea, Colombia, and the Philippines, in one of the toughest groups in the qualifiers.

The games will take place in Lyon, France, from 11 to 17 March 2026, where the African champions will battle for a spot at the World Cup.

D’Tigress will aim to extend their fine continental form onto the global stage as they chase a fourth consecutive appearance at the tournament. However, with European heavyweights France and Germany in their group, qualification will be no easy task.
