Ghana U-15 Coach Fatawu Thanks Fans and Media After Seventh-Place World Cup Run

Salifu Fatawu says prayers and media backing powered Ghana's U-15 boys to a seventh-place finish among 189 nations in Azerbaijan.

Ghana's young talents have put African youth football on the global map, and head coach Salifu Fatawu is crediting the people back home. The National U-15 Boys coach has paid tribute to Ghanaians and the media after the team's strong showing at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.

The numbers speak for themselves. Ghana finished seventh among 189 countries, winning eight of their 10 matches. They closed the campaign in style with a dominant 4-0 victory over Colombia.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the technical team and the players, Fatawu said the prayers and encouragement from supporters were a real source of strength during the competition. He also thanked media houses for their backing and for following the team's progress, saying the coverage lifted the squad and pushed them to give their best for the nation.

Fatawu believes the lesson goes beyond one tournament. In his view, sustained support for Ghana's young players and national teams could pay off widely in the future, as the country continues to invest in its next generation of footballers.
