Ronald Donkor and Manu Duah have put Ghana on the map in MLS's list of the league's brightest young players for 2026.
Ghana has two names on MLS's 22 Under 22 list for 2026. Ronald Donkor of the New York Red Bulls and San Diego FC's Manu Duah were both recognized among the league's best young players, and both have earned their spots with regular minutes this season.
Duah lands at number nine, a step up in his second straight appearance on the list. He debuted at 12th in his first year with San Diego FC. The 21-year-old has featured 21 times in the league this campaign and has chipped in three assists, cementing himself as a trusted piece of the San Diego setup.
Donkor comes in at number 12 after a breakout run in New York. He has made 25 appearances for the Red Bulls, scoring two goals and setting up eight more, the most assists he has recorded in a single season. That form did not go unnoticed back home: it earned him a first Black Stars call-up for the September AFCON qualifiers against Ivory Coast and The Gambia.
The rankings were decided by a vote from an expert panel of MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, MLS on Apple TV talent and select media members. For two young Ghanaians carving out roles in one of the world's fastest-growing leagues, it is another sign that the pipeline from Ghana to MLS is producing real quality.
