Guirassy Matches Bundesliga Greats with Historic Scoring Streak

Share

Serhou Guirassy was on target as Borussia Dortmund defeated 10-man Heidenheim 2-0 away in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

The home team were down to 10 men after Budu Zivzivadze was shown a straight red card for a studs on challenge on German midfielder of Nigerian heritage Felix Nmecha.

This gave Dortmund the momentum that turned to Guirassy scoring the opening goal in the 33rd minute with a header from a Julian Ryerson cross.

It was the eighth Bundesliga game in a row the Guinea striker scored, becoming only the third non-German player in the top flight to go on such a streak after former Dortmund players Robert Lewandowski (15 games) and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (10 games).

Maximilian Beier scored the second goal in added time of the first half for Dortmund’s second win of the season after three games and maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign.
