Ghanaian-born Kelvin Yeboah struck late to lift Minnesota United to a 3-1 comeback win over Sporting Kansas City.
Ghanaian-born Italian striker Kelvin Yeboah delivered again in MLS, scoring the goal that sealed Minnesota United's 3-1 comeback victory over Sporting Kansas City at Allianz Field on Thursday.
The 26-year-old started the Round 32 clash and played 89 minutes. Minnesota had to dig deep after Taylor Calheira put Sporting KC in front in the 31st minute, sending the hosts into the break trailing in front of their own fans.
The second half told a very different story. Anthony Markanich pulled Minnesota level in the 72nd minute, and Mauricio González then gave the hosts the lead. Yeboah put the result beyond doubt in the 88th minute, and he was substituted a minute later after a influential shift.
The strike adds to a superb season for the forward, who now has 18 goals and four assists in 31 MLS appearances. With the campaign entering its closing stages, his scoring form is a major boost for a Minnesota side looking to keep its momentum rolling.
