Semper Fi FC's unbeaten UMB Division One League run rolls on after a 3-0 win over Nukunu, while Inter Allies and Okwawu United share the spoils.
Ghana's UMB Division One League has a Zone Three team to beat, and it is Semper Fi FC. They stretched their unbeaten start with a commanding 3-0 victory over newly promoted Nukunu FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Friday.
The leaders made their mark early. Abdulai Salifu broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, and just seven minutes later Emmanuel Adjei Laryea doubled the advantage. Semper Fi went into the break 2-0 up and firmly in control.
Nukunu never found a way back after the restart. Semper Fi kept dictating the tempo and sealed the win in the 73rd minute, when Boakye Kofi Yiadom finished well to put the result beyond doubt. The three points take Semper Fi to 10 from four matches, still unbeaten and top of the zone.
Elsewhere, Inter Allies also kept their unbeaten record intact, though they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with former Premier League side Okwawu United at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Daniel Alabi gave Inter Allies the lead in the ninth minute with a well-taken finish, but Patrick Twumasi pulled the visitors level in the 16th minute.
