Victor Boniface put his name on the scoresheet as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Bochum 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Friday night.
The reigning champions recorded a remarkable 4-3 comeback win away at Stuttgart last time out and started on the front foot, this time in front of BayArena crowd through Aleix Garcia in the 20th minute.

Bochum levelled six minutes later through Felix Passlack but Leverkusen were back ahead on the hour mark when Boniface tapped in from close range for his 10th goal in all competitions this season.
The Super Eagles forward thought he had gotten a brace in the 80th minute but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Leverkusen still had time for one more goal in the 87th minute courtesy of Morocco midfielder Amine Adli and his clinical finish.
The victory moved Xabi Alonso’s side within three points of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich who host St. Pauli at Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon.
