Hosts Egypt finished seventh at the World Championship on Wednesday, marking their best result in 20 years.
The Pharaohs narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-final earlier in the day after losing 39-38 to defending champions Denmark in a dramatic contest that needed a shootout to be settled.
They are now ranked seventh, their best outcome since they finished fourth in the 2001 edition in France.
Qatar, who lost to Sweden 35-23 in the quarterfinal on Wednesday, came eighth.
“I’m very disappointed that we lost against Denmark after the display we put in,” Egypt star Mohamed Sanad said after the highly exciting match.
“We didn’t deserve to lose … luck was not on our side but I’m proud with what we have done in the tournament.”
