Francis Ngannou makes big crypto move, half of purse in Bitcoin

"Bitcoin is the future, and I'm a believer." — Francis Ngannou

Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is decided to take half of his purse from UFC 270 in bitcoin.

There’s no holding back from “The Predator,” telling his Twitter followers how much he believes in bitcoin.

“Bitcoin is the future and I’m a believer,” said Ngannou.

UFC 270 is scheduled on January 23 at 11:00 AM PST, as the French Cameroonian is ready to defend his title against ‘Bon Gamin’ Ciryl Gane. A highly anticipated match as the hype leading up to it continues

The 6’4” 240 lbs heavyweight champ has sparked his interest in the world of cryptocurrency as his recent tweet above suggested that Bitcoin has been gaining popularity in Africa.

Nonetheless, Ngannou now joins a handful of athletes such as Odell Beckham Jr, Russel Okung and Aaron Rogers, venturing into bitcoin as payment. Definitely, some big money moves in the sporting world!

Additionally, Ngannou has ventured into a partnership with Cash App to give away $300,000 worth of Bitcoin to one lucky fan. It is undisclosed whether the partnership is a short or long-term deal, but one thing is sure, cryptocurrency is taking the sports world by storm.
