KENYA PREMIER LEAGUE: LEADERS, GOR MAHIA HELD BY WESTERN STIMA

Leaders of the current season of the Kenya Premier League had another torrid time as Western Stima held them to a 1 – 1 draw at the Moi Stadium on Wednesday, February 13, 2020.

The ten-man Gor Mahia dropped points again, having lost 1 – 3 to Sofapaka in their outstanding game on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The tables turned, making K’Ogalo face tough time when they were reduced to 10 men in the 11th minute,as defender, Joash Onyango was sent off.

Onyango fouled Stima’s youngster Benson Omala who was on his way to the danger zone, and the referee had no option but to dismiss him, sending the visiting fans into panic mode.

The defending champions and 18 time record winners of the Kenya Premier League looked inspired when Nicholas Kipkirui was sacrificed for Joachim Oluoch in the back four to stabilize their defense.

The league leaders opened the scoreline on the 47th minute with Clifton Miheso’s goal despite their numerical disadvantage.

A goal from Villa Oramchan 20 minutes later put the two sides at par, but he was also sent off the field 10 minutes to stoppage time.

Both teams ended the game with 10 men, sharing the spoils in a top-tier game, to draw for a third consecutive.

Mahia has since dropped points, making Tusker close the gap on the league table to four points. Gor Mahia are top of the league table with 45 points, while Tusker have 41 points.
