Kevin-Prince Boateng’s wife opens up on blaming his injury woes on too much sex

Melissa Satta, the wife of footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng, has lifted the lid on her comments which suggested too much sex was the cause of her husband’s niggling injuries.

Boateng’s appalling injury record is no secret, with the forward often missing a part of the season due to injury setbacks.

While the former Tottenham and Schalke star has never really given any particular reason for his injury woes, his partner once did on his behalf.

In 2012, Melissa caused a stir when she opened up on her sex life, revealing that she and her husband had sex between seven and ten times a week.

Even more controversial, the television presenter attributed her husband’s niggling injuries to the “too much” sex that they had.

“The reason Kevin is injured so often is because we have sex seven to ten times a week,” she said in that infamous interview.

“I hate foreplay, I want to go straight for it. I prefer to be on top so that I can be in control.”

Well, Melissa has revisited the topic and claims she was left flabbergasted by the controversy that emerged after that interview.

“You can’t believe what a whirlwind I ended up in,” she said, as quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“You have to be very careful about what you say in football, especially when it comes to sex. Just because we have sex so often doesn’t make me a nymphomaniac.”

Boateng, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Italian side Fiorentina, has endured an injury-hit career since his teenage years.

Despite playing for some of Europe’s elite clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Barcelona, there has only been a handful of seasons where he stayed fit throughout.

The 33-year-old started dating Melissa in 2011, with the pair finally tying the knot in 2016. The couple is blessed with a son called Maddox Prince, who is six years old.
