LeBron James announces new community center in his home city Akron

Major Liverpool transfer boost as LeBron James makes £540m investment

The LeBron James Family Foundation has announced a new project for the NBA star in his home city, Akron on Tuesday, December 15.

On the heels of the I Promise School and I Promise Village, James’ foundation announced its newest project Tuesday: A community center in Akron.

The center — named House Three Thirty after the city’s area code — will provide financial-literacy advice, job training, and recreational activities for area youth.

The 60,000 square foot building will also contain a “dining space, coffee bar and private card room.” James called House Three Thirty “a sanctuary for our families.” The space will be available to anyone in the Akron community.

James’ foundation released a video Tuesday giving an in-depth look at what House Three Thirty will provide to the community.

House Three Thirty is expected to open in 2022.

In that tweet, the LeBron James Family Foundation mentioned two other projects that haven’t been discussed yet: Thirty-Five Rhodes and I Promise Housing. Both projects say “soon” next to their names. Thirty-Five Rhodes is expected around 2021. I Promise Housing is expected by 2022. The foundation will likely give a more in-depth look into those projects soon.
