NBA legend Michael Jordan made an impactful debut appearance at the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.

The 57-year-old and his crew caught a 442.3-pound blue marlin on the second day of the 62nd annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.

Although their catch was not the biggest on the day, it still caught the attention of many, as MJ was involved.

All contestants in the sport fishing tournament are vying for a record purse of $3.34 million.

The boat to catch the largest blue marlin during the tournament stands to get a whopping $1.14 million.

Meanwhile $552,500 is up for grabs for the boat which will be the first to catch a blue marlin over 500 pounds.

A delighted Jordan said he was grateful for having been invited to participate in what is the oldest sport fishing tournament.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been back in Morehead City. It’s only about 100 miles from Wilmington, and it’s always great for me to be able to come back,” he said.

“I’m happy to be back. Thank you for inviting me,” Jordan added, before taking the opportunity to sign some autographs for the cheering fans.
