Mississippi Head Football coach Mike Leach died of a heart condition at 61

Mike Leach, the Mississippi head football coach dies on Monday night due to heart complication at age 61.

The two-time national coach of the year was in his third year at Mississippi State. He led the team to an 8-4 record this season.

Leach has a career record of 158-107 in 21 seasons; 10 years at Texas tech, 8 years at Washington State and three at Mississippi State.

WSU Director of Athletics said: “We were fortunate to have coach Leach lead the WSU program for 8 years. Mike will be forever loved, terribly missed and never forgotten.”
