Naomi Osaka is back on tennis courts after taking a break to deal with her mental health

Japanese and Haitian tennis player Naomi Osaka stepped away from Tennis following the US open in September, citing  that she needed a break due to mental health issues.

The former no.1 ranked player posted on Instagram that she has resumed training, which may hint that she will be back soon.

The four-time Grand Slam champion has dealt with mental health problems in the past and boycotted media in the French open. This didn’t end well, as she got fined. Osaka also opted out from Wimbledon, earlier this year.

Not long after Naomi Osaka announced her hiatus, she went on LeBron’s show, the Shop and share the latter:

“I know I’m going to play again, probably soon because I kind of have that itch again,” she said.

“But it wouldn’t really matter to me if I won or lost.

“I’d just have the joy of being back on the court.”

To be honest, we all want to see her compete again. Naomi Osaka was No. 1 in the world for quite some time and is likely poised to get back there. She has a huge fanbase, that we know cannot wait for her to get back to the tennis courts.
