Nigeria Sparkles In New Nike Football Kits

Multinational sports manufacturing company, Nike, has unveiled the 2020 swoosh kits for the Nigerian National, making many fans excited, especially on twitter.

The hand drawn-patterned kit is highly symbolic of Nigerian heritage and will be adorned by the country’s men football team, the Super Eagles during the 2022 World Cup and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaigns.

Nigeria’s crest is placed centrally on the chest with a Swoosh underneath it, with player names and numbers integrated on the eagle feather on the jersey. “Naija” also appears inside the neck of jersey and on the back of the socks in a new typeface.

The away kit is inspired by Onaism, a traditional artistic movement central to Nigerian design and craft represented in the trim details.

Nike has made known that, the broader Naija collection will feature an extensive array of Super Eagles apparel including a poncho, vest, dress and more.

Hundreds of football fans queued on Nike’s flagship store on Oxford Street to have their hands on the stylish Nigerian kits in 2016 when it first hit the UK market.

The Nigerian Football Federation reported a sold out within minutes online after it went on sale, making a record breaking sales of more than three million pre-orders before Friday, June 1, 2016.

This fete chalked by the sports manufacturers brought much expectation to Nike in bringing another design which will be a successor to the previous jersey.

The Nigerian kits which were revealed alongside designs for the United States and South Korea on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, has been appreciated by many.
