Nigerian female footballer Desire Oparanozie has completed a move to French outfit Dijon on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old is joining Dijon from Guingamp, where she has spent the last six years of her career.

Goal reports that the move will be made official in the coming weeks, with everything already agreed.

Oparanozie netted six times in 12 games for Guingamp before the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nigeria international was one of the clubs best players during her stay with them, scoring 45 goals in 106 appearances.

The striker reportedly bid farewell to Guingamp two weeks ago and is already preparing to link up with her new teammates.

The Super Falcons star is said to have decided to remain in France despite receiving several offers from clubs across Europe, including Spain.

Oparanozie started her professional career at Bayelsa and Delta Queens in Nigeria, before joining Turkish side Luleburgaz 39 Spor in 2011.

The striker is one of Africa’s best performing female footballers, having helped Nigeria to four Africa Women’s Championships.

She also emerged as the winner of the Golden Boot during the 2014 edition of the continental showpiece.
