Rapper J. Cole set to play in Basketball Africa League (BAL)

American rapper J. Cole is signing a deal to play in the Basketball Africa League.

He is currently in Rwanda and is reportedly listed as one of the possibly two foreign players for the Kigali-based club, the Patriots.

The Basketball Africa League was initially announced in February 2019 and formally introduced in March this year.

The first season is set to tip off on May 16, and will include a total of 12 teams with at least eight local players and up to four foreign players on each of their rosters.

Champions from the national leagues in places like Angola, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique and Rwanda are set to participate.

He is expected to play between 3 – 6 games beginning on Sunday against Nigeria.
