Spain-born Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams second-half goal in the stoppage time eliminated Barcelona from Copa del Rey quarter-finals

Inaki Williams scored in the second-half stoppage-time for Athletic Club against one of the world’s biggest team Barcelona in the Copal del Rey quarter-finals on Thursday night at San Mames.

Williams’s late header sent San Mames into a jubilant atmosphere and punched Athletic’s Club ticket into the Copa semi-finals.

It was back and forth in the first half-hour, with Ansu Fati and Lion Messi having chances to open the scoring. Meanwhile, a lapse from Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen gifted Atilectic their first scoring opportunity, but Dani Garcia rushed his shot and missed over the crossbar.

Just when it looked like the two sides would have to settle matters in extra time, Athletic Club again lands a fatal blow on the Catalans in the extra -time. Ibai Gomez whipped in a cross that Willams met with a glancing header that skipped past goalkeeper Ter Stegen into the net for the dramatic 1-0 victory.

The Spain -Born Ghanain attacker Inaki, has not play for Spain Senior team and still eligible to play for Ghana.
