Undisputed welterweight champion Kamaru Usman continued his remarkable run inside the octagon on Saturday by beating top contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 to retain his title.
Usman (18-1 MMA, 13-0 UFC) cemented his position at the top of the 170-pound division after recording a third consecutive defense of his welterweight title when he earned a third-round TKO victory over Burns at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
With the win, the Nigerian-born joined Anderson Silva as the only fighters in company history to start their UFC tenure with 13 straight wins.
Kamaru has now won all 13 of his UFC fights and surpassed Georges St-Pierre for the longest winning streak at welterweight.
