Ex-Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise has tipped Willian to join Arsenal should be Blues fail to offer him a contract extension.
The Brazilian has been at Stamford Bridge since 2014, but his contract is set to come to an end at the end of the season.
While he has been a mainstay in Frank Lampard’s team, it doesn’t look likely that he will be handed a contract extension.
The Blues have already wrapped up deals with Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig forward Timo Werna.
Wise believes Willian will be a good fit for Arsenal, should he leave Chelsea at the end of the campaign.
“I think he’d be a good fit for anyone; Arsenal, I think he’d be a wonderful fit for them. That’s the sad thing about it, we’ll let him go to an opposition who wants to compete,” he said, as quoted by Goal.
“We have to replace him with more, we have replaced him but we will [need] a lot more because we’ll be depending on only two when you want more.
“I think Pedro is going to go as well, so we’re going to lose two wide men. We’ll be disappointed to lose him as well. When you look at the quality that’s going, Chelsea have got to look for quality to come in.”
The 31-year-old has racked up over 300 appearances for the club in all competitions since joining the Blues.
