“FASTEST MAN IN AFRICA” APPEARS AT HIGHSCHOOL SPORTS DAY IN KENYA

Ferdinand Omanyala Omurwa, who achieved a 9.77s finish in the Kip Keino Classic 100m event, showed his proud love for the Kenyan youth by attending a High School Sports Day in Nairobi. The event was held on the same track where Omurwa tied with the American Sprint phenomenon, Trayvon Bromell, in the 100m dash at Kasarani Stadium. While there, he raced in his signature event against the excited and impassioned student-athletes, bolting past them with ease. During the closing ceremony, Omurwa had an inspiring parting shot for the young generation, “Education is what got me to where I am today, from my humble home in Eldoret County to an accomplished university student in Nairobi City, I never would have had the opportunity to take my talents to the international level,” reminiscent of his time representing Kenya in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. “As of now, I am studying to get my Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry…Whatever you dream of becoming, do not cast away in fear! You can accomplish anything you set your mind to, even a career in sports!” He said with his chest puffed and a broad smile across his face.
