Giannis and the Bucks triumphs despite depleted roster and returning stars from COVID protocols

The Bucks vs. The Celtics game was one for the books. The Milwaukee Bucks were down as much as 19 points in the first half but were able to rally and overtake the Boston Celtics in a 117-113 win on Christmas Day.

None other than last year’s Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo took the helm and led the team in scoring and rebounds. Giannis racked up an impressive double-double game, 36 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

After just being released from COVID protocols, Giannis showed his tenacity and brilliance by playing in one of the league’s marquee games. He wasn’t initially scheduled to play and planned on being available a week later, but a strong workout convinced the team and staff he was ready.

Fellow Bucks teammate Wesley Matthews said…

“He gutted it out. You could see the fatigue but he’s just one of those guys. He’s a robot, he’s a machine. He tells himself he feels no pain, he feels no pain. He feels nothing. He keeps going, he keeps attacking and keeps putting pressure on everybody. He’s a gamer. He’s a two-time MVP for a reason, he’s Finals MVP for a reason. He’s all he is for a reason. The greatest thing about him is he’s not content with any of it.”

Giannis’ dominance was evident to fans throughout the game. Not only did he carry the offensive load, but he also made himself felt on defense. Despite all their efforts, the opposing Celtics team was unable to contain the Greek Freak to achieve a comeback win.
