Mario Balotelli is set to be released by Brescia after clashing with his relationship with club president Massimo Cellino detriorated.
The 30-year-old’s contract is meant to run until the end of the 2021/22 season, but now it appears the two parties will go their separate ways in the summer having reached an agreement.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli had a huge bust up with the club president and their relationship looks to be at breaking point.
Balotelli skipped training for 10 days after claiming to be suffering from a stomach problem, but the Serie A side say he never informed them of the situation or that he would be absent.
The Ghanaian-born Italian forward did eventually resumed training but has been isolated from the first-team and manager Diego Lopez.
And Balotelli’s brother Enoch Barwuah has defended the forward, saying he is back “training regularly” for Brescia.
“It’s all nonsense, I don’t understand why journalists write certain things,” he told Calciomercato.it.
“Mario trains like a professional every day. I don’t want to speak for him, but he‘s calm and he also trained regularly today.”
Reports also suggest that Balotelli previously skipped video sessions and disregarded his personal training regime during lockdown, resulting in him being overweight, and has had numerous run-ins with club officials since joining at the start of the season.
Balotelli reportedly earns an annual salary of £877,000 at the Serie A side.
The ex-AC Milan striker has bagged five goals in 19 games this season before play was suspended for coronavirus.
Brazilian side Vasco da Gama could be Balotelli’s next destination.
