British MMA fighter Jahreau Shepherd has been brutally stabbed to death at his own birthday party.
Shepherd’s managers said he was at his 26th birthday party when he was stabbed at Black Prince Estate, Kennington.
The BBC reports that the incident happened just after 22.30 BST on Saturday, but no arrests have yet been made.
“We love you, will always miss you and will keep your memory alive forever.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends,” the deceased fighter’s managers said.
Shepherd was the welterweight champion for fight organisers Contenders MMA before his demise.
In their tribute, Contenders MMA said the deceased was “hugely talented and great fun to be around, a big personality with a huge smile and infectious laugh”.
“Inside the cage, he was destined for the top – a champion in three different organisations with heavy hands and a warrior heart.”
Shepherd, whose nickname was Nightmare, had a 6-2 win record at welterweight, including five knockout wins.
Meanwhile, a crowdfunding page was been set up by Alpha Talent Management to raise £12,000 in funeral costs.
