Jamal Adams has been anxiously waiting for a trade from the New York Jets and he’s finally gotten his wish. The All-Pro defensive back has been traded to Seattle Seahawks.
Adams’ departure comes a day after the 24-year-old went public with criticisms against Adam Gase, saying the Jets’ head coach isn’t the “right leader” for the team.

“I don’t feel like he’s the right leader for this organisation to reach the Promised Land,” Adams told the New York Daily News of Gase. “As a leader, what really bothers me is that he doesn’t have a relationship with everybody in the building.
“At the end of the day, he doesn’t address the team. If there’s a problem in the locker room, he lets another coach address the team. If we’re playing (badly) and we’re losing, he doesn’t address the entire team as a group at halftime. He’ll walk out of the locker room and let another coach handle it.”
Adams has been seeking a trade for months amid a contract impasse with the Jets. The former No. 6 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft still had two years remaining on his rookie deal. But Adams was interested in being rewarded an extension before the 2020 season.
Even though New York adamantly stated they wanted to keep Adams a ‘Jet for life’, they showed no interest in inking him to a long-term deal. Therefore, Adams requested a trade and extended a list of teams he was interested in going to.
