Tennis star Serena Williams extended her benevolence to schools in need in the US by helping to donate 4.25 million face masks.
The 23-grand-slam champion is partnering with t-shirt company Bella+Canvas, the National School Board Association and Scholastic for this initiative.
Children in the US are preparing to return to the classrooms in the coming months, despite the covid-19 pandemic still prevalent.
In all 115,000 schools across America are expected to benefit from the donation of face masks.
Also, 54 million children will be provided with educational materials to aid them in their studies.
In a post on Instagram, Serena Williams said he is happy to be able to help students in these hard times.
“I’m grateful to be able to help educate our schools about this resource, and to be given the opportunity to serve so many students,” the tennis star wrote.
The 38-year-old is currently preparing to participate in the US Open in New York later in August.
