Nigeria’s Super Falcons claimed a 2-0 win over Cameroon in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade scored a brace to hand the Super Falcons a deserved victory over the Indomitable Lionesses at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
The tie, which was rescheduled twice, was initially slated for 31 May and 3 June, with the venue changed from the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne to Abeokuta.
Ajibade, meanwhile, put Nigeria ahead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute under heavy downpour. The Atletico Madrid star converted the spot-kick after she was brought down in the box.
The 25-year-old forward made it two for Justin Madugu’s side just before the halftime break, finishing off a cross from Babajide Omorinsola.
The Super Falcons dominated the second half but were unable to add to their tally as they continued to gear up for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) slated for Morocco in July.
