Two goals, one Man of the Match display and a title shot: Greater Accra's young guns are through to the KGL U17 Colts final.
Ghana's next generation is putting on a show, and Desmond Asare and Samuel Oduro just powered Greater Accra into the final of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship. The capital side beat Brong Ahafo 2-0 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Saturday, October 10.
Asare lit the fuse almost immediately, scoring in the third minute to put Greater Accra in control. He kept up that intensity throughout the match and was named Man of the Match for an influential performance. Oduro then settled it in the 72nd minute, doubling the lead and sending his side through.
Waiting in Sunday's final at the GFA technical centre is Western Region, who have a score to settle. They finished runners-up last year after losing the 2025 final to Ashanti Region, and they reached this stage by beating Prempeh Elite Academy on penalties.
For Greater Accra, the final is a chance to make up for last year, when they missed out on a podium finish. Now they are one game from the trophy.
Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the tournament is part of the Ghana Football Association's Talent Development Scheme, which gives young players a competitive stage to be spotted, developed and prepared for the next level of Ghanaian football.
