Dutch-Ghanaian forward Kevin Brobbey broke the deadlock in the 74th minute to send Krasava ENY into the next round of the Cyprus Cup.
Dutch-Ghanaian forward Kevin Brobbey is making his mark in Cyprus. He scored the decisive goal on Wednesday as Krasava ENY beat Spartakos Kitiou FC 2-0 in the first round of the Cyprus Cup, another sign of the diaspora talent shining across Europe.
The first half passed without a goal, and the tie stayed tight well into the second. Brobbey settled it in the 74th minute, finishing at the moment the contest was most finely balanced and giving Krasava ENY the lead they had been pushing for.
Luiyi de Lucas then sealed the result in stoppage time, and the visitors went through with a comfortable scoreline. Krasava ENY controlled the game with 56 per cent possession and put four shots on target to Spartakos' two. Spartakos earned more corners and applied some pressure late on, but could not turn it into goals.
The result underlines how important Brobbey is to Krasava ENY's attacking plans. Attention now turns to the Cyprus League, where Krasava ENY face Karmiotissa on October 17. Brobbey will be looking to carry his scoring form into that fixture.
