Ghana youth international Matthew Cudjoe found the net for the first time this term as Bnei Sakhnin beat Hapoel Petah Tikva 2-0 on Saturday.
Ghana youth international Matthew Cudjoe has opened his scoring account for the season in Israel. The 22-year-old netted in Bnei Sakhnin's 2-0 win over Hapoel Petah Tikva on Saturday.
The goal came from a move down the right. Defender Leeroy Owusu squared a pass across, and Cudjoe, inside the box, rolled a low finish into the net. It was his first strike of the campaign and arrived in his seventh appearance in the Ligat ha'Al.
Sakhnin had already taken the lead around the half-hour mark, when Ahmad Salman got on the end of a chance and finished. Cudjoe's goal then gave the hosts a second, and a bit more breathing room.
The result was a complete performance from Sakhnin, who kept a clean sheet and took all three points. For Cudjoe, the goal is a welcome milestone and a sign that his season is starting to gather momentum.
