Ghana's Frank Acheampong has now scored in back-to-back games for Dalian Yingbo, and he marked his birthday with another goal in a 3-1 win.
Former Black Stars winger Frank Acheampong is making himself at home in the Chinese top flight. The Ghanaian found the net again for Dalian Yingbo on Saturday, his second goal in as many matches, and he celebrated it as the perfect birthday present.
Acheampong started and played all 90 minutes as Dalian beat Shenzhen Peng City 3-1 at the Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium in round 28. Afterwards he posted on X: "Happy to be on the scoresheet once again, making it back-to-back goals! What a perfect way to celebrate my birthday."
The hosts were quick out of the blocks. Romanian attacker Nicolae Stanciu opened the scoring after just eight minutes, and Jing Luo made it 2-0 in the 42nd. Acheampong then added his strike after the break, which put Dalian in firm control of the contest.
The goal followed an even bigger performance in the previous outing. Acheampong scored all four goals in a 4-0 rout of Qingdao West Coast, a display that put him firmly in the spotlight. With five goals in his last two games, the Ghanaian winger is in some of the best form of his career, and Dalian are benefiting from it.
