Desmond Asare's early strike and Samuel Oduro's late goal send Greater Accra into a title showdown with Western Region.
Ghana's next generation of footballers is putting on a show, and Greater Accra are now one win from the crown. The capital side beat Brong Ahafo 2-0 in the semi-final of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Saturday, October 10.
Desmond Asare set the tone with a goal just three minutes in, and Greater Accra never really let go of the game. Asare kept causing problems all afternoon and was named Most Valuable Player for the match.
Brong Ahafo pushed to get back into the contest but ran into a disciplined, well-organised Greater Accra defence that refused to crack. Then in the 72nd minute, Samuel Oduro made it 2-0, giving his side the cushion to manage the closing stages calmly.
Next up is the final on Sunday at the GFA technical centre, where Greater Accra face Western Region. Western Region were runners-up last year and booked their place by beating Prempeh Elite Academy on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their semi-final. A hungry finalist chasing redemption against a confident capital side makes for a fascinating decider, and a great platform for Ghana's young talent.
