Chelsea have been handed a major boost ahead of the Premier League’s restart as midfielder N’Golo Kante has returned to full first-team contact training.
The 29-year-old was previously granted permission to train at home after he expressed fears over his safety due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, it appears that World Cup winner has overcome his fears as he trained with his team-mates at at the club’s Cobham base on Tuesday.
It’s considered unlikely that the 29-year-old will be fit to start Frank Lampard’s side’s first game back against Aston Villa on 21 June, but the head coach is confident Kante will be able to play a prominent role in the run-in.
Chelsea will resume the Premier League season against Aston Villa at Villa Park on June 21.
Lampard’s side sit fourth and three points clear of Manchester United in the league table, with nine games remaining in the campaign, as they target Champions League qualification.
