The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) has unveiled a 12-member squad set to fly the nation’s flag at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Leading the team is national icon and Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo, who brings both experience and expectation into the championship. The squad blends seasoned campaigners with promising talents and features participation across seven disciplines.
The 22-year-old captured silver and bronze medals at the previous edition in Budapest, and will once again compete in the men’s 100m and 200m events.
Of the 12 athletes, 11 are men, with Oratile Nowe standing tall as the sole female representative. The 25-year-old will compete in the women’s 800m, eyeing a podium finish on the global stage.
Meanwhile, the trio of Bayapo Ndori, Collen Kebinatshipi, and Lee Eppie will represent Botswana in the men’s 400m.
This year’s edition of the World Athletics Championships is slated to take place from 13 to 21 September in Tokyo.
