Nigerian athlete Ese Brume triumphantly reclaimed her Africa women’s long jump title at the 2024 Africa Senior Athletics Championship in Cameroon.
Brume won the gold with a 6.73m jump, securing her fourth consecutive title in the event and maintaining her unbeaten run in Africa for eight years.
Another Nigerian long jumper, Prestina Ochonogor, finished fourth with a jump of 6.28 meters.
Temitope Adeshina won the silver medal in the high jump final, losing to Rose Yeboah of Ghana.
Team Nigeria has now won a total of seven medals in the African Athletics Championship, including three gold medals, two silver, and one bronze.
