Ghana's Black Maidens kick off their U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco against Norway on October 18, in a Group C that offers no easy points.
Africa's young Lionesses of the pitch are ready for the big stage. Ghana's Black Maidens will open their FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026 campaign against Norway on Sunday, October 18, with kick-off set for 18:00 GMT at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3.
The challenge doesn't ease after that. Joe Nana Adarkwa's side stay at the same venue and time slot to face Brazil on Thursday, October 22, before closing the group against Canada on Saturday, October 24. That final game moves to Pitch 1 with a 15:00 GMT start. Three matches against European, South American and North American opposition will decide whether Ghana reach the knockout rounds.
Ghana have been settling in since early October, basing themselves in Casablanca for a two-week training camp. The technical team used the period to test the squad's readiness, and two friendlies gave them a look at where things stand. A 3-0 defeat to China was followed by a 2-1 win over Kenya on October 14, a response that will have lifted spirits heading into the tournament.
With the competition being staged on African soil, the Black Maidens have a rare chance to play in familiar conditions and in front of a continent that will be watching closely. A strong start against Norway could set the tone for the rest of the group.
