Already through to the WAFU B U17 semis, Ghana's skipper says the Starlets are chasing a perfect group stage in Ouagadougou.
Ghana's next generation is refusing to coast. Black Starlets captain Issah Abdul Rafiu says his teammates are locked in for their last Group A fixture at the 2026 WAFU Zone B U17 Championship, even with a semi-final place already secured.
The Starlets meet hosts Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on Friday, with a third straight group win as the target. Two victories from two games have put them into the knockout rounds whatever happens, but Issah made it clear at the pre-match press conference that the squad wants all three points.
The skipper was also honest about the team's recent shortcomings. He admitted that concentration slipped against Benin, a point the coaching staff has raised too. The players have talked it through among themselves, he said, and they are determined to fix those errors before the semi-finals.
Playing away in front of a home crowd will test that resolve. A disciplined showing against Burkina Faso would give Ghana an unbeaten group stage and momentum going into the knockouts, and it would show that this young group knows how to stay hungry once the pressure is off.
